Q: How to get a new roof from insurance?

A: A lot of people wonder whether insurance will pat for a new roof. It’s obvious that when your roof is completely damaged it needs replacement with a new roof. Your insurer may delay or even refuse payment, if you don’t follow the established roof insurance claim procedure. Your roofer can help you with paperwork and ensuring that all damage is accounted to get optimum compensation.

Q: Do I have to work with the restoration company my insurance agent recommended?

A: Insurance companies are permitted to recommend preferred restoration vendors, however, they cannot require you yo use a specific firm. You can choose to work with Badgerland Restoration & Remodeling, Inc or any licensed restoration contractors.

Q: Contractor’s estimate is higher than adjuster’s estimate. What should I do?

A: This scenario occurs when the insurance adjuster misses out on some of the damage to the roofing system. It can easily be resolved if you provide evidence of the damage in the form of paperwork, measurements and pictures. The insurance company reviews the supplements, and upon approval, sends a check for all the additional work needed to carry out comprehensive repairs.

You have the privilege of choosing the roofing company in whom you have the most confidence. Even if you get recommendations from various sources, it is your responsibility to research the companies. You do not have to go with the lowest bid, which is what your insurance company would like you to believe. Remember, an inexpensive roof is no bargain if you have problems, especially if your contractor is no longer around to honor the labor warranty. Be sure the company you choose is reputable, and local.

Q: I want to hire a contractor who is going to replace ALL my damaged items, including soffit, fascia, pressure washing, staining, air conditioning, garage doors, etc. Does Badgerland Restoration & Remodeling, Inc do that?

A: Yes, Badgerland Restoration & Remodeling, Inc. is a great choice for your home restoration. Our company is set up to take care of ALL of your interior and exterior needs.

Q: My basement has water damage, am I covered?

A: Your policy will spell out the specifics of your homeowner’s insurance coverage. Most insurance policies require an extra rider to have coverage for water damage that is related to flooding.

Q: Will my insurer increase the rate if I file a roof insurance claim?

A: No, unlike Auto Insurance, Homeowners insurance does not penalize you for filing a claim. The increate in rates is based on your geographical location. If you reside in an area that has sustained immense storm damage, the rates may increase, even if you don’t file a claim.
